GPON ETSI Plugfest, May 2007

Host: ETSI & France Telecom

Location: Lannion, France

Focus: OMCI Interoperability and Application Delivery

Participants: Alcatel-Lucent, Alphion, Broadlight, Calix, Cambridge, ECI, Ericsson, Freescale, Huawei, Iamba, TXP Corp., PMC Sierra, Nokia-Siemens, Terawave and ZTE.

The main goal of this Plugfest was to demonstrate the interoperability of GPON equipment at the service layer in a full OMCI (ONT Management & Control Interface) context. Detailed test cases were carried out to verify the provisioning of services in a multi-vendor environment.

GPON Test Event #3, September 2006

Host: KTL

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Focus: OMCI Interoperability and Application Delivery

Participants: Calix, Cambridge Industries Group, Entrisphere, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Huawei, Iamba Networks, Mitsubishi Electric, NEC, Siemens and Terawave.

The two-day event was held during the week of September 5, 2006. The multi-vendor G-PON systems were used to transport voice, data and IPTV between the optical networking terminals (ONTs) and the Optical Line Terminals (OLTs). Service provisioning of triple-play services was done via the ONT management and control interface (OMCI). Detailed test cases where used to verify quality and performance of services in a multi-vendor environment.

GPON Test Event #2, May 2006

Host: Telcordia Technologies

Location: Piscataway NJ

Focus: GPON Transmission Convergence (GTC) Sublayer Interoperability

Participants: Adtran, AMCC, Broadlight, Calix, Conexant, Fujitsu, NEC, Optical Zonu, Siemens and Tellabs

The two-day event was held in conjunction with the Full Service Access Network (FSAN) second quarter 2006 meeting and International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Study Group 15 interim meeting (SG 15/Q2) during the week of May 22, 2006. Ten system and device vendors interconnect their GPON products and reference design prototypes at Telcordia to test interoperability and assess the implementation of the ITU-T G.984.x specifications.

The two-day event was held during the week of January 17, 2006 at the Telcordia corporate headquarters in Piscataway, NJ. Six system and device vendors interconnect their GPON products and reference design prototypes to test interoperability and assess the implementation of the ITU-T G.984.2 and G.984.3 specifications.
